A powerful wizard with a high magic attack

The Mage is one of the 3 starting Heroes along with the Rogue and Warrior. They are unlocked by default.

The Role of the Mage
Magical attack (Matk) damage dealer. Mages gain more Magical attack from intellect (INT) than any other class, making them the highest raw Magical attack damage dealer in the game. They can also make decent Magical defense (Mdef) tanks since they will be equipped with mostly cloth gear, which has high Magical defense and through skill giving them health shield protecting them from magical attacks only. Later on, when enemies get more and more magical defense, their role as damage dealers gets shrunk, however, their skill Silence is very important to deal with majority of the bosses. At 51lvl (paid DLC content) they gain access to skill that doubles effect of debuffs and deal damage per debuff which can be used either for 1) amplifying crucial debuffs or 2) dishing out large bursts of damage (which requires strong and reckless setup, but it can result in extreme damage numbers).
